Documental "Romantic Warriors"
"Romantic Warriors, A Progressive Music Saga" es un maravilloso documental de Adele Schmidt y José Zegarra Holder (EE.UU./95 Min./2010). Raimundo tiene una breve aparición al comienzo, mostrando su CD "Mare et Terra" en el festival NearFest 2009 en Pennsylvania; y también aparece en la lista de bandas suramericanas durante una secuencia que describe la historia del rock progresivo. Mare et Terra Recibe el Máximo Puntaje en la Progression Magazine
El nuevo álbum de Raimundo Rodulfo, Mare et Terra, recibió un "perfect rating" en la nueva edición de la Progression Magazine (EE.UU.). El CD obtuvo el máximo puntaje de "Excellent" (4/4) en cada una de las cuatro categorías evaluadas (Sonido, Composición, Musicalidad, e Interpretación), para un puntaje total de 16/16. Además, en su columna "Globetrotting", David Taylor también hace referencia al álbum.

Mi nuevo álbum "Mare et Terra" fue terminado en Agosto y será lanzado por Musea Records en Noviembre de este año.
La obra está dividida en dos secciones principales como sugiere el título. Cada sección, Mare y Terra, contiene dos canciones.

Raimundo Rodulfo en las nuevas producciones de Colossus y Musea "Purgatorio" y "Paradiso", basadas en La Divina Comedia de Dante
Como secuela de la producción "Dante's The Divine Comedy Part I: Inferno" (noticia del 21/10/2007), Raimundo compuso dos canciones para las nuevas producciones épicas de la Progressive Rock Society Colossus de Finlandia y Musea Records de Francia: "Purgatorio" y "Paradiso", basadas en la segunda y tercera Cánticas del gran clásico de la literatura italiana La Divina Comedia de Dante Alighieri. Cada épica está compuesta de más de 30 canciones cada una de un artista diferente, uno por cada Canto del poema original. Los temas de Raimundo están basados en el Canto IV (Purgatorio) y el Canto XXX (Paradiso), y se llaman "Ascenso Tortuoso" y "El Sol de sus Ojos" respectivamente. Algunos de los músicos que participan en estos temas son Raimundo Rodulfo (guitarras acústicas y eléctricas), Gerardo Ubieda (batería y percusión), Richard Marichal (teclados y minimoog), Ricardo Bigai (bajo), Minerva Borjas (voz) y otros por anunciar.

Exhibición de Arte de Peter Rodulfo en Miami, y una muy Esperada Reunión
Tras más de 10 años trabajando juntos con arte y música, intercambiando emails, cartas y toda clase de correspondencia, ayer finalmente conocí a Peter. Fue un momento de gran emoción y alegría para mi esposa y yo, porque a pesar que nunca habíamos conocido a Peter en persona, y vivíamos en países distantes, nos considerábamos como familia.
Un brillante y exitoso artista de larga trayectoria, Peter vino a mí en 1997 como un anuncio en un foro genealógico en la Internet, preguntando por "Rodulfo's viviendo en Venezuela y Trinidad". Según sus investigaciones, llegamos a la conclusión que ambos compartimos parientes lejanos en la Isla de Margarita, Venezuela, de donde proviene la familia de mi padre, y donde el tatarabuelo de Peter llegó desde Inglaterra mucho tiempo atrás.
Peter acaba de llegar de Inglaterra y estará exhibiendo sus pinturas y esculturas en downtown Miami durante las próximas dos semanas. Si Ud. vive en el sur de la Florida, o estará de visita los próximos días, no pierda la oportunidad de conocer y apreciar el trabajo de este único y excepcional artista. La dirección es:

Raimundo Rodulfo en la nueva producción de Colossus y Musea "Dante's The Divine Comedy Part I: Inferno"
Raimundo compuso y produjo un tema para la nueva producción musical de la Sociedad Finlandesa de Rock Progresivo Colossus y la organización musical y sello disquero Musea de Francia: "Inferno", basada en la primera Cántica del gran clásico italiano La Divina Comedia de Dante Alighieri. Esta producción conceptual está compuesta de 34 canciones, cada una por un artista o agrupación diferente, una por cada Canto del poema original. El tema de Raimundo está basado en el Canto XXX, y se llama "Falsedad y Castigo". Los músicos que participan en este tema son:

"Jamming" con The Dreams Concerto
Richard Marichal es un extraordinario tecladista venezolano, y es además integrante de la agrupación de rock progresivo B612.
Richard me sorprendió recientemente al enviarme un extracto de el segundo movimiento de The Dreams Concerto con pistas de teclado añadidas por él (Minimoog y sintetizadores) tocando sobre el audio original del CD. El realmente llevó esa porción de mi música a otra dimensión con su improvisación, y espero algún día poder invitarlo a acompañarme en un escenario para tocarla en vivo ante una audiencia.

El productor y presentador radial Pieter-Bas Steens y todo el equipo de Radio Sophia llevan diversión y alegría a través de la música a los jóvenes pacientes del Sophia Children Hospital en Roterdam, Holanda. La música de Raimundo ha sido añadida recientemente a la programación especial de la radio del Hospital, incluyendo una "guitarnight" para algunos jóvenes amantes de la guitarra. Como Pieter-Bas explica:
"Hacemos shows de radio con -y especialmente para los niños que tienen que ser admitidos en el hospital. Buscamos a los niños en las áreas del hospital y los traemos al estudio, donde ellos pueden participar activamente en los radio-shows como DJ's o como presentadores, o cantar con la música. Siguiendo al festival BajaProg 2002, este festival presentó a Raimundo Rodulfo con un selecto grupo de músicos invitados, incluyendo a Andrés Briceño, Manuel Rojas, César Romano, Lermit Martínez, Beatriz Rivas, Carlos Rodríguez, Ricardo Furiati, Alejandro Socorro y la aparición especial del virtuoso arpista Carlos Orozco y su hijo Caryasenri en las maracas. Nuevo álbum en estudio: "Libertad" (Editado como "Mare et Terra") en progreso

El nuevo álbum en estudio de Raimundo Rodulfo, titulado "Libertad" (luego lanzado como "Mare et Terra" por Musea Records), se encuentra en la fase de grabación. Músicos invitados especiales están grabando y ensayando diferentes pistas y secciones de este trabajo en España, EE.UU. y Venezuela. Las grabaciones finales serán realizadas en estos tres países, y ensambladas en EE.UU.

En la 46ta edición de Progression Magazine, EE.UU., David Taylor hizo un pequeño anuncio de este próximo álbum en su sección Globetrotting:
"More happily stiII, Raimundo Rodulfo is hard at work on a new concept work entitled Libertad (Freedom). In six parts including a 34-minute suite, Libertad also wiII incorporate a chamber orchestra. So much to look forward to!"

"Libertad" fue completamente compuesto y pre-grabado por Raimundo Rodulfo en 2002 y 2003. Durante 2004 y 2005, Raimundo ha estado trabajando en arreglos para guitarra para este nuevo trabajo, y trabajando con músicos invitados en los arreglos para diferentes instrumentos, incluyendo teclados, batería, bajo, voces, vientos y cuerdas.

¿Un Nombre para un Bebé?
Cuando era niño, yo no estaba muy contento con mi nombre, y una de las razones principales era que el mío era un nombre poco común (al menos donde yo vivía), y otros niños en mi salón de clase haciendo bromas con eso no era de mucha ayuda.
Recientemente encontré este sitio de EE.UU. en la web, llamado Traditional-Baby-Names.com el cual ayuda a los padres a escoger nombres para sus bebés, explicando el origen de los nombres y suministrando ejemplos de personalidades de las artes, ciencias, deporte, historia, etc. para cada uno. Así que fue divertido para mí encontrar que en el listado de la categoría "Spanish Boys Names" habían incluido el siguiente texto:

Carlos Orozco en el Bath International Music Festival, en Inglaterra.
El venezolano Carlos Orozco, considerado uno de los mejores arpistas populares del mundo, tocó en el International Music Festival en Bath, Inglaterra. Carlos se presentó como solista, y también como dúo con el gran maestro de la guitarra John Williams.
Carlos Orozco es el arpista en el segundo álbum de Raimundo Rodulfo "The Dreams Concerto", y en el Official Bootleg "To Live a Dream", éste último además con su hijo el joven prodigio y virtuoso maraquista Caryasenri Orozco.

Raimundo Rodulfo comienza las grabaciones de su tercer album. Barquisimeto, Venezuela. 20-09-2002.

Raimundo Rodulfo comenzó las sesiones de grabación de su tercer álbum, un proyecto para guitarra, grupo y orquesta de cámara, que se llamará "Libertad". Contendrá seis piezas, incluyendo una suite de 34 minutos basada en guitarra española y guitarra eléctrica, con acompañamiento de grupo y orquesta. Todos los temas son nuevas composiciones de Raimundo. Algunos de los músicos invitados incluyen por el momento a Andrés Briceño en la batería y las trompetas, Huascar Barradas y Manuel Rojas en las flautas, Pedro Castillo y otros cantantes invitados en las voces, Pablo Gil Rodulfo en los saxofones, Carlos Rodríguez en el bajo y el contrabajo, Carlos Orozco en el arpa y Caryansenri Orozco en las maracas. Nuevamente el brillante artista británico Peter Rodulfo realizará las pinturas de la carátula y el interior del disco.

Raimundo Rodulfo abrió para el ensamble de Pablo Gil, con Andrés Briceño y Carlos Orozco como invitados especiales, en el Auditorio Ambrosio Oropeza de la UCLA, Barquisimeto. La agrupación de Raimundo Rodulfo estuvo conformada por un ensamble grande de 11 músicos: Andrés Briceño (batería y flugelhorn), Beatriz Rivas (voz en el primer movimiento de The Dreams Concerto), Carlos Orozco (arpa en los temas Esperanza y Matemática y Arte II), Lermit Martínez (teclados), César Romano (violín), Manuel Rojas (flauta), Alejandro Socorro (percusión), Ricardo Furiati (bajo), Carlos Rodriguez (contrabajo en el tema Esperanza y bajo eléctrico en el tema Matemática y Arte II), Caryasenri Orozco (maracas en el tema Esperanza) y Raimundo Rodulfo (guitarra clásica, acústica y eléctrica, y segunda voz).
En la galería de arte del auditorio se realizó una exposición de Peter Rodulfo, conteniendo 12 pinturas inspiradas en la música de Raimundo Rodulfo, algunas incluídas en el arte de los discos Dreams y The Dreams Concerto.
Andrés Briceño estuvo en la UCLA el día siguiente 18 de Abril dictando una clínica de batería, con una corta participación de Raimundo Rodulfo, Carlos Rodríguez y César Romano para interpretar el tema Matemática y Arte II de Raimundo Rodulfo (2do. Mov. de The Dreams Concerto), como apoyo al material de la clase. Haga click aquí para ver algunas fotos de la clínica.
Ese mismo día Andrés Briceño y Raimundo fueron entrevistados en el programa radial de Jazz La Conexión Alternativa, conducido por el periodista y productor José Rafael Colmenares.

Raimundo Rodulfo y amigos, incluyendo músicos, productores y miembros de los medios, celebraron con un coctel el lanzamiento de The Dreams Concerto, nueva producción discográfica de Raimundo, en Coco Music, Barquisimeto Venezuela. El evento fue patrocinado por Zuly Perdomo, propietaria de Coco Music, y conducido por el periodista y productor radial José Rafael Colmenares. Raimundo Rodulfo se presentó con un ensamble de 8 músicos en la sexta edición del festival BajaProg, celebrado en Mexicali, Baja California, México. Se estrenó además en el festival la nueva producción discográfica, The Dreams Concerto. El ensamble contó con la participación especial del reconocido baterista Andrés Briceño, en la batería y el flugelhorn, y la cantante Beatriz Rivas como invitada en el primer movimiento de The Dreams Concerto. Estuvieron además Lermit Martínez (teclados), César Romano (violín), Manuel Rojas (flauta), Alejandro Socorro (percusión), Ricardo Furiati (bajo) y Raimundo Rodulfo (guitarra clásica, acústica y eléctrica, y segunda voz). "Desde siempre le he dado vueltas a la cabeza pensando lo que podria hacer un guitarrista de escuela, es decir, un guitarrista clásico de esos que pueden tocar a Bach o a Joaquin Rodrigo o a Antonio Lauro, que aprendiera a tocar bien la guitarra electrica, que por supuesto tiene una tecnica diferente, pero que es un instrumento que se podria nutrir magnificamente de la destreza que desarrollan con los dedos estos ejecutores de complicadísimos acordes, acostumbrados a lidiar con la mas dificil guitarra acústica. Pues bien, Raimundo pertenece a esta extirpe de guitarristas. Puede pasar naturalmente de la acústica a la eléctrica y en las dos su técnica es irreprochable."
